VitalSource is committed to providing rich, highly functional, long term solutions for the needs of the accessibility market. We are committed to working with partners (such as the NFB, AFB, TechForAll, AMAC's AccessText, and others) to provide regular review and evaluation by actual users, and to make our solutions widely available. We will accomplish this primarily by taking advantage of the built in solutions provided by the computer or devices operating system, or by supporting open source alternatives. Additionally, we will work with the leading third-party vendors in the market to provide support for those users where possible.

For Windows users with the NVDA screen reader, Bookshelf supports version 2011.1.1 or later. We require Windows 7 (with limited support for XP and Vista) for accessibility with Bookshelf for Windows 5.5, or the latest release of Internet Explorer, or FireFox for accessibility with Bookshelf Online.
For Windows users with the Window-Eyes screen reader, Bookshelf supports version 7.5.1 or later. We require Windows 7 (with limited support for XP and Vista) for accessibility with Bookshelf for Windows 5.5, or the latest release of Internet Explorer, or FireFox for accessibility with Bookshelf Online.
For Windows users with the JAWS screen reader, Bookshelf Online supports version 11 or later, with the latest release of Internet Explorer, or FireFox. At this time Bookshelf 5.5 for Windows is not supported with JAWS.
Macintosh
