Creating Master Images
Introduction
Setting up the VitalSourceTM Library™ on your master image is a straightforward process. This website will lead you through that process by defining the components you will need, explaining how you can get them, and walking you through where to put them on the master hard drive. It will also touch briefly on how registration may affect master image set up, and it will direct you toward more help should you need it.
Please note that while the process is straightforward, there are several critical issues. Be sure to read and understand all of the steps involved in this process. Support options for questions are detailed in the last step.
The VitalSourceTM Library is a rich library of digital works designed to be a foundation for the quintessential "lifelong learner." As such, it contains basic references, a vast array of "classic" works from across the curriculum, important historical and cultural documents, and links to many other important resources. For learners in the digital environment, the VitalSourceTM Library is the perfect foundation. Because it contains such a wealth of resources, though, it is a large installation, running approximately 1.3 GB. This makes it necessary to divide the set-up process into four steps.
Step 1 - Installing the application (VitalSourceTM Bookshelf™)
Step 2 - Installing the content (VitalBookTM Library folder)
Step 3 - Installing the license file (license.vbk)
Step 4 - Testing the master image
