Bookshelf makes installing content from a CD or DVD very simple. There are two ways you can install, one book at a time (single book) or all the books on a CD or DVD at once (complete install).

Single Book Install

Single Book Install allows you to install content from your CD/DVD one book at a time. This is convienent because you only install the books that you need, as you need them. However, anytime you want to install new books from your CD/DVD, that disc will need to be inserted in your computer's disc drive.

Steps to Single Book Install

  1. Launch Bookshelf.
  2. Insert your content CD/DVD into the disc drive of your computer. After a moment, you will see a small CD icon appear at the bottom Collections list.
  3. From the collections list, find and select the book you would like to copy. If it is available on the disc you have inserted in the computer, a small disc icon will appear at the bottom of the window. Click the Copy button to copy that single book onto your hard drive.

Complete Install

Complete Install allows you to copy all of the content from a CD or DVD onto your hard drive, in one step. The advantage of this is that you can access your books faster and without the need of inserting a disc everytime. We encourage all users to store all of their content on their hard drives.

Steps to Complete Install

  1. Launch Bookshelf.
  2. Insert your content CD/DVD into the disc drive of your computer.
  3. After a moment, you will see a small CD icon appear at the bottom Collections list. Select this icon.
  4. The right pane contains information about the content (file count, size) and if those files will fit onto your hard drive (If you don't have enough room, consider Single Book Install - see above). Click Install Content.
  5. You can watch the install progress at the bottom of the window. If you're installing large numbers of files, please be patient. The copy process can take several minutes.

Please note: If you have multiple CDs/DVDs, Bookshelf will not prompt you to insert each one. You must insert each one and start the Install Content process manually.
