VitalSource Sponsors Award for Dental Faculty

April 28, 2008 – WASHINGTON, DC— VitalSource™, a cornerstone of Ingram Digital’s Education Solutions, was the sponsor of the ADEA/ADEA Council of Students/VitalSource Technologies, Inc. Junior Faculty Award given to Paul S. Tiwana, D.D.S., M.D., M.S., at the 85th ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition Future of the Professions event.

“VitalSource’s e-book platform was first developed with dental students in mind,” said Frank Daniels III, COO of Ingram Digital.

By sponsoring the ADEA Junior Faculty Award, we recognize the contributions made by teachers who are transforming the way students learn in school and throughout their careers,” added Mr. Daniels.

The award recognizes outstanding junior faculty who demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, service and a commitment to dental education. Junior faculty represent a unique group of educators who symbolize the future of dental education. The award recipient will receive a $2,500 stipend to be used to enhance his or her teaching, research, and service efforts.

Dr. Tiwana is an Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He joined the full-time faculty in 2004. Dr. Tiwana also is the Chief of Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. “VitalSource is a wonderful partner in supporting the advancement of technology in dental education,” said outgoing ADEA President James Q. Swift.

VitalSource was also the sponsor of the ADEA TechExpo 2008, a series of presentations that demonstrate computer-based technology applications used to support dental education including enhancing educational and patient-care programs and services.
